Members Lundnut Posted September 8, 2016 Members Posted September 8, 2016 Hello everyone! I am a fairly new home owner on Table Rock. My wife and I love to fish and have had a fantastic spring and early summer catching big numbers of bass. We live near the 6 mile point and have had a lot of success until it got hot. Here is my delima, although I love catching the smallies! I gotta find the crappie and walleye for the freezer. They are eluding me and I'm not a novice fisherman. Any chance I can be pointed in the right direction on where to find these critters? I've fished Stockton a lot using bottom bouncers and night crawlers so walleye rigs are familiar. I've caught piles of crappie there also, I just need help on Table Rock! My wife made me buy a new Lund 1775 with all the goodies and gadgets to make her happy on the water, now I need to put her on the fish! I've been reading the forum for months and decided to jump on board for help. Good fishing to you all! big c 1
Seth Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 If you want crappie, you're best best is to hook up the boat and head to Stockton. Tablerock is great for bass and some guys can get on the walleye, but you never hear much for crappie outside February-May. magicwormman, abkeenan and dtrs5kprs 3

Take a look at RPS's reports to get a handle on how big of a challenge the walleye bite is. For crappie you are much better off at Stockton, etc. Not that they can't be caught on TR, just pretty spotty. You might try some of the deep slips around Kimberling and the lower James for crappie. magicwormman 1
m&m Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 My advice would be to hire one of the guides that is a regular here on the forum. It will be money well spent and you can pick his brain for the entire day about different species and different areas of the lake. Just sayin' Mike big c 1

rps Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Lundnut, I have not fished that far down lake since the 80's. In those days I only fished for bass. Therefore any of my walleye knowledge is generalized lake knowledge. However, I am willing to show you the types of areas that produce for me on this end. PM me if you want a boat ride some weekend day this month. magicwormman 1

Just sayin' Mike I'm not sure you will find a guide for crappie or walleye this time of year. Just to hard to find on this pond, other than March, April and May. Most people stock the freezer with whitebass and crappie during this period. You really don't need a guide for either specie, just follow the boats. Save your guide $ for our elusive bass.

Where else but this forum would somebody make an offer like that? Impressive. Another one of the "good guys" for sure. magicwormman, crazy4fishin, dtrs5kprs and 6 others 9 "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." Champ188 Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Randy is more than an asset to this forum. And he's among those pf us who have found that this is one heckuva place to make actual friends beyond internet acquaintances. crazy4fishin, big c and dtrs5kprs 3
