Well, since this is what kids are taught in schools today, it's not too shocking?

Well if you are the type of person that leaves all teachings up to the schools then you might be in trouble. I know you are not Mitch.

But I also know that these are not the things that my kids are being taught in school. I don't know if people are just slow to catch on in this part of the world or are just smarter than the rest. But I don't really worry about it because I know my kids are smarter than that.

Not the ones I've seen in canoes on our rivers sometimes.:D

That's exactly what I thought. Obviously they haven't been on the James river on a nice summer day.

Yea, I think the most damage is done at the Universities where PC is king. I used to think the term Academic was a compliment, not anymore. That word now should be translated to: "Sat on my arse for another 4 years". Unless you're in Engineering, or something equivalent, you will be endoctrinated with all this bullsh*t. I'm in a quandary right now on how to how to help my oldest decide her path.

Where are our universities going? The cost is astronomical and you could easily spend $100K for an absolutely worthless generic degree. I'm sure many would almost rather send their kids to learn a trade. This higher education thing seems to be a bubble about to pop. Sorry, I'm venting

Get as many college credits as you can in high school

Spend semesters 1,2,3, maybe 4 in community college knocking out your general level courses. Then transfer somewhere like Missouri State or Truman.

Depends on what she wants to do after college, but your fundamental courses are the ones that will bring the most $$$ post grad. Math, Chemistry, Physics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Computer Programming.

If you're smart you can convert those skills into any industry you want.

Heh, exactly what I was thinking.

Also, I think of a canoe something someone that isn't well off can have and can afford.  This article should be about $80k sparkly bass boats.
