Jigfest 2 ~ Taneycomo

I'm going to throw this out there and see where it goes.

The weekend of December 17-18 is pretty open for us this year, which is normal.  So here's what I'm thinking:

Lodging:  $15 per person per night.

Boats:  $10 per day (double occupancy) At least 2 persons to a boat.

*** If someone can come and can't swing this rate, let me know and I'll make exceptions.  I'm not doing this to fill rooms... I am trying to cover costs though.

#22 is open and I will hold it.  It has one big room for gathering plus 3 beds in the back.  Will put at least 2 people in that room.

I have some of the bigger rooms open.  I'd like to fill them with, say, 1 person per bedroom unless a couple of people come together and want to be in the same room.  Or course if we have couples, we'll put them in a separate unit unless they want to be in a bigger units with the rest.

The idea is to stay together and get to know other fellow OAF'ers like what we do on the White River.  This is not a special for those who just want to come and fish and stay to themselves.

Here's the kicker... at this late notice, I don't expect this to be as organized as our White River Jigfest, nor as successful. But that's ok...  it's getting it started that's important.

The other thing is that I have been told that I can't COOK or may be even FISH that weekend.  Our daughter is moving back to Branson with family from Arkansas and we're going to be busy helping them move.  I'm sure I'll be here for part if not all the weekend but at this point I don't know exactly.

I'd like to handle reservations through the forum and not through the office... they tend to get confused when I put one of these on.  

We'll see how this goes.  May only have a handful of anglers but it'll be fun regardless.

Sounds like a great deal and I do have to get down to Taney to try to catch a brown and finish my trout goal for this year. Unfortunately we already have made plans for that weekend and I will not be able to attend. I look forward to living vicariously through the posts from the event.

Yea- I don't expect a big turnout, if any, because of the late notice and close to the holidays... we all are very busy.

This sounds like a great plan!  Have to check my schedule though, I'm a maybe at this point.  

We could also have a OAF moving day.  I wouldn't mind helping you out if we had enough of us we could move a house pretty quick so you could join us on the water Phil!

It could be down in NW Arkansas... that would take a a lot of fishing time away!

I would love to come down,but my daughter is  due to deliver our first grandchild on that day. I better not miss that event or the women will be upset. wold ot miss it anyway

I am negotiating with the wife unit to see if I can get away.  Can we fish three to a boat?  I would bring my dad and son if I make it, but given that it is a get to know ya event maybe split my dad or I out with someone else.

I did some negotiating as well and got the green light to go.  Its going to cost me, being I just got back from there, but its worth it LOL

Sure.  You can fish 3 people.
