Just ordered some of these gloves and will try them out and report too. We fished 2 weekends ago and i wore a pair from Galeton called MAX 4.5 waterproof and they worked just fine.

Missouri cold weather is 25°-40° Just dress the same way you have been since you were a kid out playing in the snow. If you get miserably cold it's because you aren't catching any fish (or whatever) so it's time to go home. Have you been outside in the past couple of days?? 25 degrees would be a heat wave. Sunday in St Louis, you could count the high on 2 hands and the wind chill was less than one hand below nothing. I spend days in January sitting on a block of ice stirring the water with my legs to keep it from freezing over duck hunting. It helps to have something between the outside elements and the skin. Hopefully that polar blast is over and we'll only get one more like it this season. A big pot of chili, homemade apple pie, and a 5th of Devil's Cut got me through that one without any problems. I had no intention of going fishing in it. big c and vernon 2

The cool thing about throttles is that they offer control over the speed and you only have to run as fast as you are comfortable running. Slow down ! I've never caught a fish at 60 mph. I prefer to ease along at about 3000 rpm, sip coffee and nibble on a doughnut. I've outgrown white knuckle boat rides, especially in Winter. Donna G, Alex Heitman and LD Fisher 3
Longball22 Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 I'll back anyone up on the Cabela's Guidewear. I have the 100mph bibs from BPS as well, and while they both do their job, I think the quality of construction/pockets are better on the Guidewear. One thing I haven't seen mentioned here is a down vest. I've tried down jackets under my Guidewear, and I feel constricted. I prefer a vest when I'm hunting or fishing, because it traps heat in your core, but allows ventilation from your armpits, which I think helps me keep from sweating more than anything else I do. I walk a lot when hunting in Iowa, so this is the hardest thing to manage. Also easier to cast with a vest on than a full jacket underneath. Donna G, Daryk Campbell Sr and LD Fisher 3
Daryk Campbell Sr Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 I want to thank you all for your input. I have always had ultra low blood pressure, and am generally cold. These ideas, reviews and information really give me a direction. I've never had a devoted cold/wind/rain suit but had been looking around the last few weeks at different options at different price points. Tons of good info here to mull over and make a decision. Would you expect any less from OAF members though? Just great info. Thanks much everyone. Donna G 1
