stability question

Going to show my rookines here.

after a pontoon or deck boat, what is the most stable, deep v, flat bottom, trihull, fiberglass bassboat?

it's tough fishing from a pontoon and i'm not REAL stable(R.A.) but would like to have something besides a toon.

Stability IN a boat, and stability OF A boat are both elements in their own right.  You can be perfectly stable in a 32-36" wide Jon boat if your feet are below the surface of the waterline.  But as you elevate yourself above the water line (such as on a bassboat deck) then you need extra stability (width) in the hull to make up for that.

You might consider a deep v. aluminum bass boat - they are stable and can be configured such that the fishing decks are below the gunwale thus providing stability for you.

Gary is it stability or balance issue.  I am slowly getting somewhat over a balance loss.  It was bad enough that standing up in a boat at all was tough.  I simply couldn't all just to the movement of the boat, haven't gotten far enough along yet to try a canoe again.  I never liked pontoons, I don't know if they are any more stable or if your mind simply tells you that at least if you fall it will probably be still in the boat.  My old Champion was the most stable boat to fish from that I have owned, others were aluminum.

Those pontoons sit on top of the water. So it's bobbing up and down all the time. I've been in a lot of different boats. The most stable seem to be fiberglass and a deep V.  The best part about those deep v boats are the sidewalls. Depending on which one you get . They can be as tall as mid thigh. Be hard to get thrown if a big wave hit while you are fishing. I have a Skeeter 20i that has no sidewall. I prefer a bass boat. for me its overall more versatile. Sometimes I like to go fast too. ?. Fishinwrench would be the guy to talk to. He probably knows boats better than anyone on here. Good luck finding your boat.

I'd look at a model targeted more to the walleye or multi-species segment for a stable V bottom fishing boat.

Get a big CC bay boat if you want stable.  20' plus.

Thanks everyone for the input. i've been looking at a deep v. even thought about an old ozark tri hull. never thought about a bay boat, good idea.
