ollie Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Looking to wade new trout water for me. No trout parks and no tailwater. I have been to the NFOW as well so we can't include that one. Also would like a chance for a nice fish or two. Current? 11 PT.? Where else can I go without needing the canoe or any boat? I know their are sections on both of the rivers I mentioned, but I don't know them. Ideas? Thanks trythisonemv 1 "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
Ham Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 You could do 11 or but it's going to an interesting hike Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
netboy Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Walk in access to the 11 Point is pretty limited. Much better to rent a canoe from Brian Sloss in Alton. Ham 1
Johnsfolly Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 I have wade fished the 11 pt and it has really limited access. I wade a lot for trout and can give you some thoughts. Send me a PM. Ham and Eric82 2
jdmidwest Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 11 pt can be waded. You will have to be willing to hike a little and drive around. This time of year would be the best, lowest flows are right now. Last fish were stocked in Oct. or Nov. Grab a map and take off. Best wading would be above Whitten. There are several accesses and trails. Wear orange, Alternative Firearms Deer opens this weekend and runs thru first of year. ness Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Small, wadable MO streams: Barren Fork, Blue Springs, Capp's, Crane, Mill, Roaring River, Roubidoux, Spring Medium, wadable in places: Current, Eleven Point, Little Piney, Meramec, Niangua, North Fork Eric82 1 John
ollie Posted December 22, 2016 Author Posted December 22, 2016 I've hit most of the small ones on your list Ness. I'm leaning more towards the Current. I have been there once, but just at Baptist. I have thought about little piney too. Eric82 Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 I'd have to second ness when he mentioned the Little Piney. My favorite smaller stream. You can park under the 63 hwy bridge or, as i do, park at the parking area at the gate at Lane Springs since the park is closed. Although its closed people are welcome to park at the parking area at the gate and walk down the hill thru the field to the river. The fish are wild and most of the time are eager... ness, ollie and Johnsfolly 3

So I will likely park at Lane Springs lot. Eric82 1
Eric82 Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Let me know when you planning on going if you want i could meet ya there. Unless you want solitude which is also understandable... Johnsfolly 1
