Members Big_Jake Posted January 2, 2017 Members Posted January 2, 2017 This was our 2nd day on the river (my first and second days ever to fish the Norfork). I think I'm in love. Haha. Just from the quantity and size of fish it was so much fun. We boated several rainbows, browns and cuts that went 15"+. I landed one rainbow at 17". I had a 20"+ cut to the boat but we weren't able to get the net on him before it rolled off of the Barbless hook. My five year old daughter caught a 16.5" brown. She was so proud (I was more proud). To top it off I got my first grand slam, (which included my first Brook too!) ! What a great day we had. Hopefully the water is right for a return this weekend. rps, Ham, Johnsfolly and 1 other 4
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 2, 2017 Root Admin Posted January 2, 2017 Any pictures? Love to see the brook.

Johnsfolly Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Sounds like a great trip! The brown that your daughter caught is bigger than some of the biggest browns that some of the guys I know have caught. She should remember that one for some time. I fished the Norfork for the first time back in Dec and now know what you have just learned that this is a great river with a great bunch of trout opportunities. Great job on your slam! Great photos as well. Big_Jake 1
rps Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 I have loved the Norfork for many years. I love the pictures with your daughter! Big_Jake 1
JestersHK Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 That is a great trip right there! Congrats to your kiddo too. Heck of a fish. Thanks for sharing. Big_Jake 1
