I have never heard a bad thing about Berkley Big Game mono being bad.  But, flouro is the things these days.  Played the game for several years.  Advertising is a great thing for the sellers.

Big Game is great mono, I still use it for deep cranking.  It's probably the best bargain in the fishing world.   A bit too soft and stretchy for a lot of applications but for open water without a ton of heavy cover, or for vertical jigging, trolling, Catfishin', and stuff like that, Big Game does the job, and it's cheap.

I run 15lb Big Game on my Dobyns Fury where I am using hard swimbaits, A-Rigs and Ploppers. Good stuff. But if you are wanting the best of both world's in a good co-poly the P-Line CXX is awesome for the bigger diameter stuff. I have it on a couple of setups and have been super happy with it.

Big game is great line! Caught tons of fish on their 15lb on blades and I use their 10 lb on my c-rig tippet, floats and has always done a fine job! Bps fluorocarbon in 17 lb is on all my fb jig rods and  main line on c-rig and has worked great even now under the Kvd name. Every other application, mostly cranking is 8lb Gamma copolymer, best line ever IMO for cranking!

Finally, for all TW baits 15 lb big game.

Thats what I use and trust and my opinion, years and years ago was completely using Magnathin and Maxima but since the introduction of fluorocarbon and Gamma I've changed.
