Flew in to Reno last Friday and headed to the mountains.  Man it's been a blast mountaineering and skiing. I needed a break from It as my legs r just wrecked and need a rest.  I scheduled a fishing trip with a local guide that I fished with 3 years ago and did great again with him. We got a limit of lake trout.  We caught 2 fish in the 180 foot make and 3 more in the 320ft mark. Here's a few picks. The two biggest fish r at the bottom of the photo list.

Are you going to try and make it to Pyramid Lake to catch gigantic cutthroat?

I wish I had the time to.  I'm leaving for Mt Shasta tomorrow to do some climbing and snow camping till Monday.  Then skiing till Friday the 3rd.

Congrats and thanks for sharing! Looks like a bucket list trip!!

Have a wonderful time and stay safe!

It's been a good one. It's definitely tough up here though. Very cold and road conditions have been bad almost everyday.  Altitude is a big variable also. We're sleeping at 5500 feet and always looking to get higher lol.

So we scratched Shasta.  The avi report was too high.  So we've just been doing backcountry skiing.  I just learned how to ski Tuesday and Wednesday.   On the bunny slops of course.  Then they wanted to show me how to skin up snow so I learned that in a day and the very next day I skinned up a nasty ridge and skied down, on powder.  All 4 seasoned skiers were blown a way that I skied "pow" in the forest on my 4th day.  They say I'm the 1 percent of skier.   I told them sorry I'm leaving in 6 days back home. Good enough for me I reckon. I just want to get back to fishing!   Here's a couple of pics of what I'm skiing after 4 days
