It is cool following your target species around for a year. Dan - good luck in Feb and Mar. I still want to try out the spoon fishing for walleye and white bass, but will likely start pestering you after March. I'm rooting for you to get these last two (three) fish to meet your goal. I did take this fish home even though she was full of eggs. I still feel kind of bad. I wonder how many actually reproduce in Stockton? I'm pretty tender hearted about fish, but the walleye are stocked there for you to enjoy. As long as you caught that fish using legal methods and it was legal size and part of a legal creel limit ; Don't sweat it. Stockton seems to have a lot of walleye Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish

Thanks John, hopefully we can get together, I myself can only fish about one day a month right now. Work is a paradox for me....no work no lake fishing, too much work no lake fishing. I am thankful for my job ! I am excited to fish with you, it will be a blast ! Johnsfolly 1

Stockton seems to have a lot of walleye Thanks, What do you think about this? I figure that there is a possibility of catching a large female full of eggs, maybe a wall hanger. For me that would be a fish near 30 inches, and 8 lbs + rare for Stockton but possible. So what does a guy do? Make a replica, and return the old mother to her home or just hang her on the wall? After a few years it seems like real wall mounts look bad, and video and pictures seem like a great way to remember. I am leaning toward C&R, but I feel like I would be letting a 30 point buck go by. Hammer time Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 Over the years my two largest eyes one over 10 and one over 9 both came on clown rouge in February on channel banks bass fishing. Both full of eggs. dan hufferd and dprice 2
Ham Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 I had a skin mount done of a 6 1/2 lb Largemouth that I caught April 10, 1972. Not bad for a 9 year old, but that's the last mount I will have done. I have a free replica waiting on me in Texas for a 10.40 LMB from Toledo Bend. In general, I don't like replicas but the price was right. I try to get a good photo of special fish. Heck you might want to frame the photo with the actual lure you used. I keep all my legal walleye until they reach 26 inches. I release them >26 inches. That's just a random number I settled on. I guess wondering what to do with a big fish is a good problem to have. I do not have to worry about it yet, but just in case I wanted to be ready. Have you caught many over 26 around here lately?
