Are there otters in Table Rock or White River? I know it was an Otter but I've never seen or heard anyone else mention them. I was pretty close to it and it was walking in the trees near a point. Isn't it Otters that make such a mess on the docks in the Winter time? I keep a Pontoon at Long Creek and they leave crap (literally) all over the dock.

Members troller Posted January 31, 2017 Members Posted January 31, 2017 The lower end has its fair share of them. If you have any trees hung it's like a magnet for them.
MOPanfisher Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 If those piles of poop have scales in them it's otters. Sore Thumbs 1

They are awesome animals. Wonder if they stay in the same area all the time or move around? Thought we saw two otters early in December when we were fishing around Baxter, but my partner insisted they were weasels. that's a new one for me - don't think I've ever seen a weasel before.

They are otters! Fish eating, stealing, nasty critters! We managed to catch 4 crappie one day last week and I put them in a live box on my dock. I was going to clean them the next day............wrong. Otter broke into and damaged my live box and to rub a little salt in my wounds, he pooped all over my dock. Make matters worse, lil critter never even said thanks. Sore Thumbs 1
Champ188 Posted January 31, 2017 Author Posted January 31, 2017 Enjoying nature is a give-and-take deal. The critters were there first, so you have to expect that you emight get a little poop on your dock. That's not directed at you, Spoony, just a general comment to the entire thread. And yes, beware of any otters/beavers/badgers/aardvarks or related creatures you may run across in the river arms. They very well may be part of my security network to keep you hooligans off my holes. vernon, Donna G, magicwormman and 1 other 4
m&m Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Champ, you're up early. Heading to the lake today? Mike
