Had an Alumacraft for 6 years. Loved it. Only sold it when the wife insisted I upgrade to a wheel boat. Last year I bought a Lund Rebel XS 1650. Love it too.

FWIW-- Ranger just added a bunch of deep-vee boats to their line. Some are still in the prototype stage as no photo is shown. If the new boats are built like pre-BPS hulls, then I've added another brand to look at this year.

What are the odds of that happening?

I can't dance like I used to.

Doesn't Evinrude have something like a 10 year warranty right now?  I can't see why that wouldn't make for a compelling reason to get a non-black motor...

there are only 2 evinrude dealers in the branson area, compared to 9 mercury dealers in the same area.

I bought my Lund with an Evinrude at Cope in Branson West. Good experience and when I had a warranty issue, they fixed it quick for nothing. When service time comes I will follow the recommendations of this board and use Ulrich. Seems like a good combo to me.

My buddy sells boats and from a resale standpoint BassTracker is the best. Even though those other boats might be better quality built he has trouble selling other brands. Lund is a great seller on deep V.

If the time comes to sell a deep V Lund, Alumacraft, or Crestliner use the Walleye central message board. I had an excellent resale experience through there and their viewers are savy to the tin boats.

Id say that my budget is $13-20K.  I live in Ozark.  I've been looking at 17-18 foot models and this may sound crazy, but I've been torn about looking at models with 40hp so I can hit Fellows Lake in addition to the others.  I have several friends with nicer glass boats so I can always go with them, but my son is really getting into the outdoors and he's 11.  We need our own ride.  I just can't go buy a new glass boat with 3 kids and one almost in college.  I used to have a 21 ft Cobra with a 200hp Yamaha.  I just don't think I need something that crazy these days.  I just ordered a Crestliner brochure.  They've been on my radar too.

My tracker had a 60 and it was a dog.  Can't imagine a 40, and resale would suffer.  I'm in ozark too.  The way I look at it is it only takes 10-15 minutes longer to get to table rock than fellows
