Hammer time Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 Put in at 39 bridge at 9:30, only boat there. Temps throughout the day 43.8-46.7 Started on and stayed on channel banks all day. Fished deep diving clown rogue with 3-5 second pause. Fished all the way up to Hickory Hollow. Ended up with 8, 6 blacks with 1 keeper, 1 keeper brownie and a short mean mouth. Active fish I found where 15-20 fow, loaded up at 4:30 CPR and tight lines dtrs5kprs, snagged in outlet 3, Daryk Campbell Sr and 10 others 13
m&m Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 Hammer, thanks for the information. Did they hit it during the pause or just when you moved the rogue? Healthy looking fish. Mike
Quillback Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 Nice pics, you got the lighting just right. vernon 1

Champ188 Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 Heckuva lot better than I did at Grand. Did not catch a bass from 9-4:30. One drum saved me from a total skunk. Sore Thumbs and magicwormman 2
Sore Thumbs Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 It's tough over there Champ. Not sure where to go or how to catch them. Makes me feel a little better about the 3 I caught when I went. What section of the lake did you fish so I can avoid it this weekend? Ha.
Champ188 Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 I fished from Duck Creek down toward the dam. I'm afraid you'll find it even tougher above there ... the water is dirty and colder. I'm sure there's some clearer, warmer water up in the Elk but that stuff will be so covered up in the BFL that you'll have to take a number to fish. Evers only had 24 competitors on the last day of the Classic last year. I can't imagine how crowded the Elk will be this spring since he hammered that big sack up there to win it. Sore Thumbs Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 I'm trying to find some areas that are relatively close to Wolf creek. Get more fishing in than running to the dam. Tournament is March 11th. Should be perfect pre spawn conditions. I'm scouting more than I am concerned about catching them. Water temps still around 49? magicwormman 1
