dtrs5kprs Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 Wonder how that will impact Overtons, or if it will.
stlfisher Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 The Gander MT in STL always seemed empty. Daryk Campbell Sr 1
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Maybe Johnny should just buy them
Ketchup Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 ^^^^ That's what I mentioned to a buddy earlier. TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.
Old plug Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Why should he buy them if he can destroy them and still march on hos way to marlet monopoly
Ketchup Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 It would be a business move. Smart business. Buy up competitors and have less of them. TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.
dtrs5kprs Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Plug may have nailed it. Buy the remains.
jdmidwest Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 I think Cabelas bought them out years ago when they were a large mail order catalog business. They went away for a while, then came back as retail stores. Funny how most of the majors started out as catalog mail order businesses with one home based retail shop. Cabela's, Bass Pro, Herter's, Gander Mountain all started that way. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson

They seem to be catering to the temporary trendy outdoorsman. The one who feels like they need to spend a whole lot of money, and look the part. Not the everyday outdoorsman, who doesn't have to fill the void of having every name brand showing. Just my take. Money is just ink and paper, worthless until it switches hands, and worthless again until the next transaction.
