fishinwrench Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Just in case you're too young to know....Back "in the day" it was known by many north of I-70 as "Pro Bass Shop". You didn't get straightened out unless you bought a hat or a tee shirt. ☺ Mitch f 1
jdmidwest Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 There you go, I have never been North of I-70, drove it one time, may have pulled over on the north side to take a leak. But never ventured far from it. That is, once it leaves St. Louis and St. Charles. David Unnerstall Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 I work in Fairview Heights, IL which is the retail capital of the universe. But for some reason the only outdoor store is Fairview Bait, Tackle and Hardware (which is a pretty good store). Then they built a Gander Mountain and I was happy. There is an Academy but I thought they were just soccer balls and bicycles.

They have a much better selection and it's organized in a much easier to find stuff way. Plus they have their H2O line of baits which, for the price, are great baits. dtrs5kprs and David Unnerstall 2 -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson

dtrs5kprs Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Academy may not have some of the specific local items, but they have a lot of the staples. Zoom, SK, Lew's, decent rod selection.
