dtrs5kprs Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 His books are interesting, if you love the area.
rps Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 I have his book as well and love going over the photos. dtrs5kprs 1
Ellros Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 I'm sure all the locals know, but for those that don't, RT's restaurant in Kimberling City has quite a few 1957 pre-lake photos in the case and on the walls, including a pic of the old bridge taken by sonar. Interesting to browse those while waiting to eat. Smalliebigs, dtrs5kprs and Bass Yakker 3

Bill Babler Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 Thanks Cheese, great stuff. My neighbor Wilma who is now deceased and her family homesteaded here in the late 1800. Her son now possesses some of the most fantastic photo's of the area that I have ever seen. it goes clear back to logging of the short leaf pine that dominated the area and floating the logs down to Branson and Forsyth, to be loaded on trains. Simply amazing stuff. dtrs5kprs, Bass Yakker, huntest and 4 others 7 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Macsimus Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 Thanks for the post. I really enjoy the local history as well. However, I looked on Amazon and for "Buried by Table Rock Lake", those of you that have a copy might want to keep it in a safety deposit box. Wow. $602 for a used paperback copy? Time for a second edition? vernon 1 "There was a time that I didn't fish, but I cannot remember it."
Macsimus Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Wow! I should've bought a couple of these as an investment! Anyone have a copy they'd part with for less than 47K??? https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/0974476315/ref=tmm_pap_used_olp_0?ie=UTF8&condition=used&qid=1487943859&sr=1-1 $47,074.30 + $4.72 shipping + $0.00 estimated tax Used - Good Connecting readers with great books since 1972. Champ188 Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 I can only think of one book worth that kind of money. Fortunately, it doesn't cost anywhere near that much. Deadstream, Macsimus, dan hufferd and 4 others 7
Macsimus Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Yeah, I'm guessing someone's computer program has a bit of a bug in it. "There was a time that I didn't fish, but I cannot remember it."
