I'm always hung up between it and the Mimi's burger with candied jalapenos. I have not but certainly will if you recommend it! We thought that the "normal" barbecued meats were just OK (we're horribly spoiled though) but really like the chicken. Been wanting to check out the BBQ and burger place that Dave recommended but can never remember which one it is when we're actually there. I know it's a ways over there from the Kimberling area but we try and make it over to The Steak Inn at Shell Knob once or twice each year. It's one of the few places around (even in Kansas City) that I'll order a steak cause I've always believed I can make a better one at home than they can in a restaurant. However, the ribeye at The Steak Inn is as good as I've had anywhere including home. Kathy really likes the prime rib too. It's some of the best I've ever had And some of the biggest crowds, longest waits and most congested parking I've ever seen as well! We always try and time our visits over there but we find it to be worth the wait. IdleTime and magicwormman 2 "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." While we are on the subject of food, where is the best fried chicken on the west side of TRL? We've had it at RTs and it is good. We r looking for one of those places hidden away in the country that serves great fried chicken. This is what posters do on days like today. Mike vernon 1
Macsimus Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 Have no idea if it's the best but the Fillin Station's fried chicken sure makes me smack my lips. It's the saturday special. And, where else can you get a genuine mechanic's rag for a napkin! dtrs5kprs and Champ188 2 "There was a time that I didn't fish, but I cannot remember it."
