Members CadeWompus Posted March 13, 2017 Members Posted March 13, 2017 Can someone tell me if it is still possible to use the Ahoys Ramp in Kimberling City?
dblades Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 I'm pretty sure they have quit letting the public use that ramp.
vernon Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 When we were there last year you had to get permission and a parking pass from the main office at the Kimberling Inn (and we were staying there). The way the guy that owns that place is going, he'll be banning all fishing boats and any related activities any day now. Kind of surprised that he's still allowing tournaments to go out of there. He seems to think that he's running the Ritz on the Water or something. Too bad the place is still a dump. crazy4fishin, dtrs5kprs and HardHead 3 "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." Members CadeWompus Posted March 13, 2017 Author Members Posted March 13, 2017 I wonder if I offered to pay a launch fee, if he would allow us to put in there. There are tournaments this weekend going out of Cedarwood Resort Ramp, Port of Kimberling, and Schooner Creek. I just thought I might try to find a ramp nearby that wouldn't be as congested.

I think they have all but cut off most public use of this ramp. Outside of Joe Bass tournaments I'm not sure who else get's to use it other than maybe Kimberling Inn guests. You might try Mill Creek, but like dtrs5kprs said depending on what time of year you'll be down if it's between now and the end of April there won't be a ramp on the lake that's not congested.- Kenny

Not sure about a launch fee but I do know that they were charging FORTY BUCKS per night to rent a boat slip just to give you an idea of what to expect. They are NOT fisher people friendly at all - and I'm talking about actual guests. Ham and dtrs5kprs 2 "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups."
