eyedabassman Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 I was thinking of getting one this year to not have to use sun screen. So what is the one to buy? I did see a online add for buy one and get 3 free and I think the brand name was SA. Not sure if was a scam or just not a good one.i was looking at the Glacer one that Bass Pro has. I thought I would get any inbut from you guys that have used them before I pick one up? Thanks
abkeenan Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 I bought a couple from SA because as you mention they are dirt cheap. I think I got 5 for $15. I'm a sunscreen guy so I don't wear them and just gave them to my brother and dad as a cheap gift. Have a few laying around that I will just give to people. So I don't know how they stack up with other "buffs" on the market but they seem to achieve their purpose.
slothman Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 I just ordered some. I'm waiting for them to come. Got them for the exact reason you stated: I don't like to wear sunscreen on my face. Hopefully I'll be able to get them in and try them out soon.
moguy1973 Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 I have several of the SA ones and they do the job. I usually forget to put on enough sunscreen where they don't cover on my face and end up with a red circle around my noes and eyes. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson

Macsimus Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 I got this one two years ago and it's still holding up. I had to have something I could breathe easily with as I can't stand trying to breathe through fabric. I will say they are proud of them. I think I paid around $22 for mine. https://www.simmsfishing.com/shop/hats-sunhoods/bugstopper-sungaiter.html "There was a time that I didn't fish, but I cannot remember it."

Skin cancer isn't limited to the head I would be more inclined to wear sunscreen on my feet/legs/arms. I really don't like putting it on my face personally.
