dtrs5kprs Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 Or Basics, basically. Once upon a time, we didn't have skirt collars. mixermarkb 1
Flysmallie Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 I've got the proper equipment but lack experience. Everybody lacks experience in the beginning. dtrs5kprs 1
dtrs5kprs Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 Maybe not exactly how I do it, but it gives the idea. Adding silicone in makes it a little harder.
Guest Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 If I can tie bucktail, this should be slightly easier. Gonna practice on some old jig heads until I get it right.
fishinwrench Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 Once you determine how much skirt material you want, lay it out on a table. Smear a bit of Shoe Goo on a strand of copper wire and lay the wire on the rubber/silicone and let it dry (you can do a bunch of these at a time). Once the Shoe Goo has set up you basically have rubber/silicone hackle with a wire core. Wrap it around the jighead collar, twist it with pliers until it's tight, cut the wire and fold over the twisted tag. Done. ? Gavin 1
