LittleRedFisherman Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Man this thing is great. Gonna be a game changer for my river fishing! Even at full thrust there is no tourqe on the pedal! Spot lock was awesome in some pretty tough current it didn't wander around..... very impressed! I broke a leader off one time and was able to tie at the back of the boat with no worries bout fighting the Moter Taking my 8 year old to the river will be a lot easier to work with him on the water! I've just used it once, but right now I think this thing is awesome! Seth, Greasy B, grizwilson and 2 others 5 There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!

Seth Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 I'm REALLY hoping I can upgrade to one of those bad dudes this summer. I figured it would be awesome on the rivers.
grizwilson Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Sweet!!!! You will love it. “If a cluttered desk is a sign, of a cluttered mind, of what then, is an empty desk a sign?”- Albert Einstein

I am really happy at this point that I got it after I used it yesterday, there was a couple spots of turbulent water I had to have the boat in to fish, were in the pocket And this motor work flawlessly for that! BassMaster#1 Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 I would love to get a spot lock motor, but curious about a few things.....how hard is it to pull motor up in a hurry....sometimes motors bind in shallow water and you need to raise it in a hurry. In those cases you are able to scissor the motor up to get it unstick....wonder how this will work for you? Don't those motors only slide up and down to adjust? How quick can u drop it in the water....say after some quick shallow current you want to drop motor in a hurry to fish the eddies...is this possible?

It has a lift assist cylinder that makes it pretty light to lift IMO. If you have a bad back that might be a different opinion. The shaf t adjusts manual like a normal Moter with the clamp you tighten down at the top. The ulterra does this electrically. There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
Members Parkerhollow Posted April 20, 2017 Members Posted April 20, 2017 I might just refinance the boat and throw one of these things on mine now. Been waiting for someone to review an ultrexx on here to see how they like it. thanks for posting! LittleRedFisherman 1 "Floaters make it hard to fish but sometimes they improve the scenery..."
Guest Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 I will be getting one of these next year. Might even buy a blazer jet boat with it mounted on the front.
