I just got back home from Pomme De Terre and the Niangua river was rolling big time and plenty of floaters going down by the 54 bridge at the Niangua. Pulling 73 CFS and still rising

This is a big one. The only map I seen showing rain fall totals appeared to show the heaviest around the mountain grove. North Fork White got a big dose, flowing 130,000 cfs. Gasconade will be over hwy 44 at Hazelgreen shortly. It looks like the Niangua at windyville might be cresting, but you never know. Good luck stay safe.

Ameren discharge chart shows the lake is now falling.http://apps.ameren.com/HydroElectric/Reports/Osage/HeadWaterTailWater.aspx however you can't tell it here at Ha Ha Tonka. It appears to have come up 8 inches since 11 AM but Amerens charts shows the rise at about 4". Maybe since we're 50 miles from the dam it takes time to show here. The COE info shows Truman Dam with no discharge till Wednesday so hopefully they get things under control B4 they next rains forecast for Wed.

I am midway down  the Gravois at the mouth of Mill Creek. From my observance at 10am and noon it was rising about 2" a hour. we went shopping and got home and it had fell back a couple inches. So maybe were cresting out here. A lot depends pn the flood gates and what happens all the way down to St Louis. The combination of Truman and LOZ can cause  some real flood damage to St Charles. It has happened before. So if that becomes a posability they will be forced to shut the flood gate at least more and we will start to rise again.

It's not dropped any yet on Niangua. Now to the top of the top of the trailer fender. Perhaps someone can explain how levels at the dam have been dropping for hours and it's still rising here?

It does the same thing on the upper Gravois, and we're only 15 miles from the dam.    Moving water is not level.  If a log or stick is moving then the water surface is not level.

The difference between the lake level at Gravois Mills vs. the level at the dam can be as much as 3-4 feet during a flood. And remember that is only 15 miles.

Actually during this last inflow the level of the creek just 1 mile up from the access at Gravois Mills was 20' higher than the level at the access.  You'd expect some kind of big wall of water between point A and point B.....but it just doesn't do that, gravity doesn't permit it.

I figured that was the deal, but didn't realize it could be that much. It has finally dropped a couple of inches here. Over night a boat dock with a Jon and a Pontoon moved in about 50 yards down from me. Sure glad it didn't take out our dock as it came by.
