dtrs5kprs Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 The problem is that a lot of the resorts don't allow trailer parking anywhere near the units so you have to drop it in some obscure location designated for such use. Kinda like a big candy store for thieves - one stop shopping. Still Waters is among the worst. While the parking area is lighted, it's up on a hill in the middle of nowhere with zero visibility from anywhere in the resort area and no security. That's why I don't stay at those resorts, lol. crazy4fishin and Champ188 2

dtrs5kprs Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 Got me there! Seriously. If I can't park it by the room, I'm not staying there. I can think of about four resorts around Kimberling that fit that bill. Good enough for me. There are still a few others here and there. Not palatial, and I still sleep with a pistol, but less worrisome. Champ188, magicwormman and vernon 3
moguy1973 Posted May 22, 2017 Author Posted May 22, 2017 How's things looking down that way now that the lake is back above 928'? Clear? Stained? Muddy? Staying in Joplin with family tonight and heading down tomorrow morning to fish the day. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
176champion Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 Water level is back up to 928.88..by tomorrow morning it will be 929.. I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything! Bruce Philips

Stillwater's is awful...........my wife makes fun of me for going overboard with locks at Stillwater's. I park the trailer near a tree; cable it to a tree, another lock on the tongue and I take the swingaway tongues pin out and drop a lock thru there too.(lol)..........overkill, I know. But I don't want to have to figure out how to get the boat home on a family vacation.:-( - And I know, I know...........if a thief wants it bad enough, they'll get it. But, why would they hassle with my ole nag; when there's always other trailers on the lot unlocked; ready to just hookup and roll away with.(some with boats too!) vernon and magicwormman 2
motoman Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 Oops; I veered off a different direction to which this thread was heading. - I haven't been keeping tabs on things down their the past few weeks.........why is the water coming up? (Lotta rain?)
