Hey Dan, sounds like some great weeks ahead. We will all live vicariously from your posts as no one here seems to be out fishing. Hoping to have power on our dock by next week then look out bass!

I'd be fishing if I was near the lake. Lol.  But I can't get off the water no matter where I'm at

Nice dinner! It is tarpon time though. Sure it's on in the Keys, Buddy left for Naples today. Tarpon or big Snook is their program. Hit the beach early on the right tide and can catch right there.

Think will be in Ft Myers in a month or two. Inshore there sucked last year due to all th Ag runoff out of Ocheechobie, beach fishing on Sanibel is/was good. Ft Myers beach can be good too. if clear enough to sight fish.

Yep last year I wasted a guide trip at the height of the Ocechobee mess.  Guide never mentioned it and it was all over the news.  I thought if he didn't say anything maybe it wasn't affecting fishing.  Wrong.  He took my money after telling me all day how the bad the fishing would be because of it.

Did same but Capt John is always fun to fish with. Lives in Ft Myers, but usually fish Naples or the Glades with him. Wife enjoyed the tour through the Peace R., Matlacha. Out through refish pass. Heck of a ride in a hell's bay skiff. Did blow a shot at a 40" Snook. Look for the Bravo Mexican Market down in Naples. Usually pick up a cooler full of snapper there (whole fish) for $4-5 a pound. Worth the trip. Feed 10-12 a snapper dinner with sides for less than $100.

I have been down to Islamorada a few times. Did you take a flyrod with you? If you did and the capt. allows it throw a streamer at the Mahi Mahi. When you get one up to the boat there will be followers. Did that once with some soft baits and freshwater tackle. WOW. May be some trout around as well. Good luck.

They won't let you lift a tarpon in Florida.  FGFC rules I Think?   Protecting the fish and trying to get it back into the water swiming freely and recovering as quick as possible.

If like to have held mine but just over 90lbs, I think my pic was good enough.  My 14yr old lost a 140-150 class after about 3 really awesome jumps.  It would have wote out both of us.
