I agree with Fitz fishing. Those guys just never seem to want to chat at all. I've gotten to the point that I don't even really want to go in there much any more. Osage beach bait and tackle is a much more welcoming atmosphere. They don't carry quite as much tackle, but dang, at least they act like they appreciate you as a customer and fellow fisherman.

Come on Fitz, throw some bones. Seriously.

Dont get get me started on they way they act towards anyone not in their "circle".

Carol at Osage seems like a great gal, especially when shes handing me an envelope after a Friday nighter :)  Joe Bass isnt bad either.

i will apoligze in advance. I wil talk up a storm with anyone. But I cannot hear one thing of your reply. Ain't that so Wrench. I will talk tackel and some general other stuff. But you can bet your last dollar I am not about to share anything like a secret are spots. I figure finding the fish is part of the of the fishing experience. I know I would never feel satisfied fishing some place someone told me about.

SHRAPNEl.... About one time a week I announce to my wife I am  going to take my weekly drive. I usially only go two places Up to see Ed and give bites to his dog and then go see what Wrench is up to. Might just do that right now. Need a  box of Night crawers for a try at trapping a Armadillo. I missed the little crapper at 2 am this moring. Only the second time I have ever failed to stuff a 410 slug into one. Going to set the trap in a different spot..

Near the swimmin' hole?

Below McCaslin bridge on Lyman's property.  I've been trying to buy it for years but I doubt that I'll ever get it done.   The land was taken by adverse possession many years ago and nobody can produce a deed, survey, or decide how much taxes are owed on it.  An extended lease is the best I can negotiate.....but I wan't to build on it and move the business there if I can.

i fish near the main body of the lake all summer and do very well. I fish only a couple hours a day mostly in the evening feed period. The only differance is I am doing it at 20 -25 ft. I can guarantee you it can be done in my 18 ft targa but it would not be a good idea to do it in a bass boat. bass bout could get swamped.. Wakes will effect you and your boat far more than it does the fish. I work certain groups of docks near the mouths of large coves mostly..  I will second what Wrench said about brusy not being required.  None of those dock are working the past couple of days. I believe were just in one of those funk periods where they do not want to play with our toy artificials. I have had a lot of fish coming in to hit and nip it and thats it. As of to say " I gave it a tiny taste and it is not forage " But i am cery confident that it will be back sa,e time and same place within a couple weeks.

Wrench it sound unbelievable that the owners of the property around that parcel of land have not claimed it thriugh squaters rights years ago. If it is still loose go to the county court house and hve them look it up they will have the taxes due on it. And even if it is a large sum they ill ingoshiate it down.

Nobody can claim it.  Lyman's dad cleared it and fenced it in back when nobody cared, and he has been keeping folks off of it for over 50+ years.  It is his by adverse possession.  He wants to sell it NOW but the cost to own it rightfully is astronomical.

I assume that when he croaks the state will just take it over.  Not sure what the full extent of legalities regarding land being held on those terms are, but it looks to be a friggin' nightmare that I neither have the money or the patience for.

That's the way alot of the land was aquired back in the day.  A guy would just take off into the woods building fence and if nobody noticed and stopped him then he would start running people off of it and call it his own.  It worked.

I got busted for trespassing on that property about 18 years ago, and I fought it tooth and nail.  I asked WHO I was allegedly trespassing on, and they said "Lyman".   I asked what they had that showed it was his property?  They had nothing, so I pleaded not guilty.  The prosecutor got pissed and told me I had better get a lawyer, to which I said "it sounds to me like y'all need one worse than I do".

Eventually they beat me down with repeated court dates where they intentionally kept me in the court room as long as they could, and as often as they could.   I finally got tired of the head games, pleaded guilty, paid them their piddly 78.00 and got on with my life.

I wish I had stuck to my guns though because the way they do crap like that and get away with it infuriates me.
