I had never even seen Fellows, but after hearing all the hub-bub about it I checked it out last year. Have you ever walked into a store and had the owners stalk you like they thought you were trying to steal something? That's the way I felt at Fellows lake. I'd have to live real close and wanna fish REALLY bad. Not my kinda place at all tho1mas 1

That's 6 years of fishing every single day. 22 years if you only fish weekends. Double or triple that if you don't keep the same boat that long. Crazy hu? That math kept from buying a ski boat 25 years ago. Actually the guy that owned The State Park Marina laid those numbers on me way back when as we were looking to buy a boat. Always rent when we go.
fishinwrench Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 Yes sir. I have customers that only use their boat once or twice per year, yet they are among my most frequent customers. A boat doesn't like to set unused and there is always something wrong with it when they come down. They'd be way better off renting a boat. WAY better On the other hand I have the dock builders that beat the crap out of their boats and use them every day. I seldom see those guys. Just once or twice a year for maintenance stuff or the rare minor failure. You hear guys talk about certain motors and they'll say "That SOB never ran good and was in the shop more than it was out fishing".... that is probably because they didn't go often enough to justify owning a boat in the first place. snagged in outlet 3 Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 The only downside to renting is you only have it during their hours of operation.
ColdWaterFshr Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 I rented a boat from Fellows Lake Marina a couple months ago. The folks were nice enough, but the boat was terrible for the $75. Trolling motor foot pedal was not working. Told them about it upon returning and no discount.

Their maintenance crew is probably better with lawn mowers.

Flysmallie Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 The fishing in Fellows is just fine. It's a good lake with some nice fish.
