Being an avid bowhunter, maybe even moreso than fishing, it stinks to see this area of the site dead. If your a bowhunter, or interested in getting involved, lets hear from ya. I've been bow hunting 27 years now, and have never missed a season. The peace of being out there, in a stand 18' up when the world wakes up is a sight. That first shootable deer of the year stays with me. With the addition of crossbows, theres no reason anyone interested in archery cant get out. I will be posting my outings in hopes to fire you archers up.

Ketchup the year has been getting away from me. I still have to buy my licenses for this season. I will try to post any trips that I will take this season. Had a lot of encounters last season, but no success in terms of meat on the ground and in the freezer. I hope for a more productive season this year.

Good luck to you this season and to all other bow hunters!

No giant but I should have been able to some meat in the freezer. Looking forward to this season.

I havent' had any bucks on camera yet that are big enough to get me excited for early season hunting. I've been shooting a few arrows though just in case I do decide to venture out early in the season. I've still got deer meat left over from last season that I'm working on finishing up so no big rush to get out there and shank a doe just yet. Once Halloween arrives, bow hunting followed by a week of rifle hunting will be my #1 priority and I will log some serious hours in and tree or blind. Fishing is definitely my favorite hobby throughout the year, but being in the woods during that time between Halloween and rifle season in my absolute favorite.

Thanks Fly. If that time ever comes to put up the gun and bow, it will be to sit on the porch swing and spend the days dreaming.  Even when im fishing, im looking for deer near the shoreline.

Andy send me your brothers number. I need to hollar at him.

Johns, when i bought my license this year, the guy at Nixa Walmart told me i was the 3rd license sold in the state so far. I was there bright and early the day they came out. Last year i waited until Sept. 14 to buy my tags. I feel more prepared in all aspects this season. Nice cam pics there also. I've got a few from last year and 1 from 14' that magazine worthy. I will post me favorite here. Just love the stance of the buck, the natural shadows, the trees, etc.

Seth, i cant miss opening weekend, or im in shambles. I have my daughters wedding friday, bass tournament on TR Sat. and church sunday, but i will be in the woods those days also. I do love that magical time between Oct. 20 to Nov. 20.  Makes me happy thinking about it.

I agree with that being a great trail cam photo. Looks like a planned shot. Saw your trail cam photos from this year. I would be excited looking at those bucks☺.
