Fall Fishing Trip

I was out Saturday morning hoping to find some white bass.  I was throwing a red eyed shad, first 4 cast I caught 3 crapple all about 15". I started thinking maybe I need to crappie fish instead. Stayed fishing for bass, never caught another crappie but I did find some large mouths, no whites though.

It was tough.  I talked to someone coming off the lake and he said it was good fishing until the weather turned and hasn't recovered.  Docks were ok for short fish dropping the rubber worm straight down and the buzz bait along the sides.  A megabass vision caught a couple larger fish from the main arm.  The biggest fish was 14 3/4" on a rattle trap.

But beer was drunk, steaks were eaten, cigars smoked and scotch was sipped.

But the wild thing was they caught them all on beetle spins and rooster tails. And the key was using light line. They were only getting the fish on their crappie rods with 4 and 6 lb line. So right now I have decided to use crappie rods with light line for the big bash bass and I would suggest everyone else fishing it do the same.

Dad-gummit! I left the rod with the roadrunner tied on in the rod locker all weekend.

I'll be switching into White Pride mode after the Fall BBBash is over with.  Worked out great last year, the timing was perfect.  I was still catching Whites and baby stripers at Christmas time.

Don't even start with micro aggressive words like white pride, all I can think of is Genocide. I'm going to have to run to my safe place. 😂

looking forward to some fall fishing for sure, saved plenty of vacation time

We have been catching some nice whites for a couple weeks now.  They slowed during the warm up but they are back on the banks eatin and schoolin off points.
