The guys who drive around with a livewell of fish just so they can have a multi-fish glory shot at the end of the day really get me.

Amen to that. Testosterone overload is my guess.

I don't fish tournaments except for one small one where I went to college back in 2012 with my wife (she won at that). My wife and I are fishing the Toyota Tournament only because I bought a new Tundra in March, it's free, they feed you, you get to meet all the Toyota pros, so I though "Why not what do I have to loose." Other than that I don't see myself fishing any more weather it be on TR or BS, I just don't see the point in paying to win $250 assuming you do actually win plus those guys act like they're going after $250,000 and it seems like their morals (if they even have any) go out the window when that $250 is on the line.

Thank you Gentlemen.  My views exactly.

What has always ticked me off is that some "organization" (proven, established and independently audited Charities are the exception) is making a handy profit by using a public resource and negatively impacting the public's fishery !

"Negatively impacting" ?  Yes, absolutely and definitely.  If you're off on a Monday and can get out on the Lake, go visit a weigh-in site a day later and take note of all the "floaters" that, in order to line someone's pockets, were released there after being transported in a livewell to some weigh-in Circus-event like what they stage say at BP In Branson.  And if there is a "release boat" be sure and notice all the highly unusual number of dead, bloated floaters that are feeding the Turtle and Buzzard populations back in the Coves.

I've fished and now lived-on this reservoir for a long time (1974) and this money-making nonsense has to be controlled and limited in some way soon by the blind-eyed MDC.

I will only support any Derby or Tournament when strict rules are in place and enforced like what a local, exemplary Bass Club does where they measure and photograph the catch at boat-side and then release the fish at the site of the catch.  Of course that would eliminate the profitable Carnival that occurs at the weigh-in sites...duh !

agreed 100% Skeeter......if you refuse to make your tourney a  CPR Tourney then you in fact don't care about the fish's health and are only worried about your check and your pathetic glory. You can say your tourney does all it can for the fish but, you are kidding yourself and you are a problem.

I have seen the floaters at Skeeter's ramp after a weigh in and I have seen the floaters at Blood River A Kentucky Lake.....I saw soo many fish caught at LOZ this last weekend that looked beat up as hell from obvious boat rides......it's a friggin joke really.

My friend who fished the BBB last weekend said it best....."It's all about luck, you have to luck into one".....He's right....fishing PB2 for fish that have been already caught and sore mouthed and getting pummeled by a constant barrage of baits.....fighting the urge to not bite some artificial reactionary bait because it will end in a boat ride from hell to a new location and possible death......hahahahaha sorry I know a fish probably doesn't have the capability to comprehend that but, sorry my opinion is killing bass for a weak check and very pathetic glory is lame as hell.

While this general lack of respect for anyone else is rampant EVERYWHERE and not just fishing, it's really sad what tournaments have become these days. I grew up fishing with and against guys (Mr. Bass of Arkansas circuit, Red Man and other events)  like Gentleman George Cochran, Ricky Green, Mark Davis, Ron Shuffield, Larry Nixon, Rob Kilby and plenty of others who would go out of their way to be polite on the water to ANYONE including a bream fisherman in the smallest flatbottom. Still, every one of those guys won well more than $1 million dollars in career earnings and some are still out there competing.

There are a LOT of guys out there today (young and old alike) who could learn some important lessons about common courtesy from the fellows mentioned above.

Might not be a bad idea, Thumbs. Gotta at least be some spots biting on the north end.

It will be very interesting to see how today plays out.  Big North wind and 30 degree temperature drop overnight.  Looks like the teens struggled yesterday as well.

I got out for about an hour yesterday.  Tried to throw the blade on wind blown banks that should be holding fish without a sniff.  Got tired of getting wet with the whitecaps and called it a day.
