Hog Wally Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 I went out yesterday to try again for some bass. The old school rogue was banging big fish like nothing else. Some friends came over and we took a gigging expedition over a several mile stretch. With the 50 degree water temps we saw fish from 8" deep to 10'. Most big bass were in flow behind an obstruction. We stabbed 4 limits of suckers and only two smallmouth casualties. One was from someone who hadn't gigged in 6 years. The other came from someone who gigs every week. It happens man. Wart 57 1

I'm not exactly sure what a conservation agent would have done to us? Do you have any clue about the law? It's not illegal to gig bass.
tjm Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 Nice weather for it. Sounds like a good time. Nearly a lost art, haven't seen any giggers in years. Don't know of any one who grabs either.

Gavin Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 Might get a $3 fine per fish plus court costs for that. Hog Wally 1

What he means is that as long as you don’t possess them after you gig them and throw them back, it’s ok .Because it was a case of mistaken identity....then you won’t get fined. We all obviously will not condone the gigging of smallmouth or any other game fish "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
