Wrong and wrong.  As usual.  This thread was started to honestly show that bass get wrongfully gigged by very experienced giggers.   All the time.  It went sideways when you got nasty and derailed it.  That's okay though. You have a very obvious and detailed agenda

When I got nasty and derailed it.

You guys are hilarious.

You start this crap every year trying to recruit to your cause. It never materializes and then you blame others. You tried a bit of a different tactic this year but the results were the same.

math challenged? So, prohibit a method, say worm dunking that was mentioned, (gig/bow/ Treble hooks/whatever) and the folks that practice that method will not buy permits, get it? Loss of revenue, see?

Heck, they might even turn around and prohibit your method or mine.

The current extra special smallmouth management says I cannot keep any pan size smallmouth  on the nearby river, why would I buy a permit to fish if it's illegal to keep them? Again loss of revenue. Keep the trend going and soon only the few will have to pay all the cost of fish management, straw and camel?

Am I math challenged??? yes

Do I care if a dude won't buy a permit because he can't keep a  pan sized bass that grows very slowly by the way, because there is a  special management area on a river to help protect and preserve the bass in that stretch??? NO

You're comparisons are silly at best.

We are talking about illegal gigging of game fish and how this gets exasperated  when someone with bad motives does gig Smallmouth, which they do, because the fish grow quite slowly.

A boat can and does devastate a section of a river quite easily.....10 Eighteen inch smallies from an area of river is probably 216 years of growth.

Nobody has mentioned banning worm fishing or fishing with treble hooks.

Prohibit my method of fishing???.....What catch and release with lures??

Prohibit boats too, I can kinda see where that would help; but it wouldn't be very popular. Do they prohibit boats in Indiana?

it boils down to the same old story....."g-paw did it  so and Im gonna do it"  its not cool to be selfish even if its legal..smallie bigs i'd show him my super secret big fish spots......fish stabbers or freezer fillers not a chance.....

want to know why Mississippi has big crappie? perhaps its a 14" min size limit?

ever fish a place where fish get released?  they get HUGE....harvest = smaller fish....can they stunt? yep...then you let people eat a few....

takes 5 years to grow a huge crappie, 8 years for a smallie.....think about that....we need more stream management, wonder why access keeps going poof people keep wiping out big stretches of streams....how do we know? dead fish...fish heads...beer cans.....etc.....

IMHO winterholes in streams should be off limits to harvest hook gig or anything.....if you poach....no fishing for you for 5 years.....harsh?  you bet

I have seen way to many areas go to crap...I am tired of it....want some food spend 88 cents for some chickenbutt hotdogs

MONKEYS? what monkeys?

Wonder what % of Mo. fishermen are primarily catch to release fishermen, never handle fish out of the water, never kill fish, never give fish boat rides , barbless single hook guys? heck count the release to die guys too and the ones that use lures with multiple trebles

Would that number of permit sales pay for the research and management of all the fisheries? Acquisition of more access?

How many people come through the state each year that buy a short NR permit would buy one if catch to release were mandatory?

How many kids never start fishing because of don't keep laws? That one is impossible to guess.

yeah well reading about what some dude cooked after watching the FoodNetwork on a fishing forum makes for a long Winter as well.....many threads on here to make for some laughter, including this one.

I'm not the one insinuating alleged men have an itchy vagina on here.

My, such hostility. I happen to post on the food thread. Are you implicating me in this generic slur? Or did your lambast just bleed over?

What say we just take everything down a notch and stay friends?

LOZ doesn't compare to lakes in the south.

Walleye fishing does not compare to walleye fishing in the north. Hell it doesn't even compare to Walleye fishing in Oklahoma.

Same for catfishing, there are way better places to do it. Again Oklahoma is one of those and they ALLOW noodling.

The Oklahoma record walleye is 12 pounds and 13 ounces. The walleye in the picture below isn't even the Holiday Island Marina record. Mine was 13.75. Chuck's was 14.5 and I saw it. TR produces prodigious walleye and back channel communications tell me LOz does as well. I suspect Stockton holds something like this as well. Just saying.
