I finally am going to be able to hit the water on Friday.  If the wind doesn't knock me off the water, I plan to dunk a spoon.  Is 50' too deep or have they moved that much?

I  hope to be out there too. I don't know how to fish but i plan on figuring it out when i get there

I was out on Sunday. Water temps were 47-48.

Big shad schools in deep water with fish under them. Not sure what they were because I didn't catch any.

Tried a spoon in different places with no luck, but it was an off day all around for me.

Try inside bends of that main channel, look for balls of bait, slab spoons near bottom for eyes bass/crappie/whites will be higher up..I liked tipping the hook with a 1" piece of crawler....you will also pick up some huge SMB this way..live minnows deep on fireball jigs are an option

MONKEYS? what monkeys?

I have been catching them in less than 10 ft of water on the jerk bait . There have been some really nice ones mixed in with the bass . Biggest so far is just over 5 lbs

Walleye?

I will be starting out with the spoon.  If it doesn't work then I'll  move to another type of fishing.

The ends of the long main lake points would be where I try first. The lake has been undergoing a steady drop over the last couple of months. Of course the presence of the huge shad schools nearby should be taken into account. Caught a couple of small ones the last time out (about a week ago) fishing some brush for crappie off of points in 25-30' of water.

Thank you all. Very encouraging.

I also caught an 18 inch walleye on jerk bait, main lake point 12 foot of water. Just one, but wasn't fishing for them either.
