Managed to put 8 crappie and a decent yellow perch in the livewell but had to sort thru several smaller crappie to get the 8 keepers.  Also spent about an hour graphing fishing and vertical jigging a spoon but all's I could muster up about 20 spots biggest being 15 inches and shortest about 11.  Fun watching the jig on the Lowrance Hook5 and then then just blow up with fish all around it.

Crappie caught on soft plastic crappie jigs and minnows off brush pile in 16 to 20 fow .  Yellow perch and spots were all caught in 20 to 25 fow jigging a white and purple spoon about 5 ft off the bottom.  Water temps were 51 to 53.

Well done buddy. I can tell you one thing but don't want to hijack your thread as ducks were not mentioned. You did much better than I did :) !

To change the subject, I did see a couple flocks of gaddies while fishing yesterday so maybe things will start picking up fowl wise but won't be able to find out til maybe Tuesday :(.

Now you are just encouraging him ! I'll take a minute to congratulate you on your decent day of fishing. That's a bunch of nice crappie and pretty cool about catching the yellow perch. Congrats!

There you go baiting me and then you hijack your own post. May your water stay in the liquid form, mine may not :).

Aggravator!     Have you caught your Missouri yellow perch yet? You know it does not count unless you catch it in it's native waters and bet you have that done already.

I’ve been in the penalty box for a couple weeks now with a cracked block on the tracker jet. In the process of converting the duck machine into a hybrid one man crappie/walleye/duck rig. This is gonna be interesting....

Thanks for the report.  You’re keeping me on a mission!

No. Haven't fished any water that has yellow perch in Missouri or Arkansas.

Yes. I caught several in Maryland this spring/summer. They were all stream fish and not very large.

Pretty typical of northeast yeller perch.  You can catch those things by the bucket load in many Massachusetts ponds and lakes, but it is very tough to find them over 12".
