oneshot Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 Know many Gig Suckers out of the Niangua but do people Grab? oneshot
MOPanfisher Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 Oneshot, I haven't grabbed a sucker in many years. Seems like it was more of a thing down around Branson when I lived/worked there. Bull creek and Roark creek were our best spots.back then. I think I still have a shuttle grab that a buddy made for me.
Gavin Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 See folks grabbing suckers on the Current and N. Fork. I don'f fish the Niangua very often, but I'm sure some folks do.
tjm Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 Long ago when brother and I drove suckers for Dad and his friend to grab it was when water was warm enough to wet wade. Same for when they gigged and I pushed the tub. I can't imagine wading wet is much fun this time of year. School was good about us skipping when the suckers were running.
Al Agnew Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 I did quite a bit of sucker grabbing on Big River when I was a kid. Seldom saw anybody outside our little group of teenagers doing it. Haven't seen anybody around here do it in many years, though I'm sure some still do.

Al Agnew Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 I agree with Greasy, so to that aim, I'll start a thread in the trout fishing section...
