I haven't tried using sand fleas but we have caught a bunch. I have a bunch of gotchas but don't use them much anymore. Still haven't tried the bubble rig. Somedays a spoon is pretty kickass (like most of them). But a clouser or a wiggle minnow on a fly rod are about all I do. And I pretty much catch ladyfish, small reds, and jacks. A ladyfish on a 5wt is a handful and a whole lotta fun. And I've already lost count on the number of fish that have spooled me on an 8wt. It happened twice in one morning. It's crazy. You sure don't have to wonder if you got a bite. snagged in outlet 3, MoCarp and Johnsfolly 3
snagged in outlet 3 Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 Ultra light rig with a sand flea is deadly on pompano. I love lady fish on the fly. I've caught spanish and kings on the fly too. Johnsfolly 1
Gavin Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 Lady fish are a ball. Have saved allot of DIY SW trips over the years. Buddies dad was a King Mac fanatic. Wicked fight but lots of trolling mostly. Don't have the patience for that.

Definitely a couple of keepers! Do what you can to keep them happy! Smalliebigs 1
