Devan S. Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 Are these fish resident fish? If no do they move up in an event like this? If so how far are they moving up from?

Devan S. Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 Interesting. Is there many small mouth caught down lake say a month or so after something like this? You would think with the amount of gate activity over the last 10 or so years coupled with the primary interest in trout on Taney that there would be some really good resident small mouth living down lake.

Johnsfolly Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Great bunch of brown fish guys! Not the browns that I would think about catching in Taney. Though last year I caught a decent smallie down there .
Jhoff Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Awesome video, probably a dumb question but I'm assuming Wade/bank fishing is futile.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 29, 2018 Author Root Admin Posted March 29, 2018 There were a dozen or more people fishing by outlets 1 and 2. There should be some warmwater species above outlet 1 including walleye. But yes it's very limited.
JestersHK Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 So according to the core website it looks like they lowered flood gate release down to 1000cfs? Did they close some gates completely, or just closed them all a little bit? Will that prevent fish from coming through? Curious to how all that works. I do know they can variably open and close them. Just wondering if they almost shut them if fish still make it through?
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 29, 2018 Author Root Admin Posted March 29, 2018 We're heading up there in a little bit and will report back. Someone told me they shut them all but one... which makes no sense. But I'd take one over zero. snagged in outlet 3 and JestersHK 1 1
