Pflugers and Fenwicks

I hit up the BPS double points night tonight. Was pleasantly surprised to find Presidents on sale. Almost snagged a Fenwick too. Just sharing the savings.

Dang, $15 after the rebate.  They have them online for $49.  So $25 after rebate.

I don't think that's the deal. The sign says "Buy any Pflueger reel AND Fenwick rod". So you have to purchase both the reel and rod to get the $25 off. Still a good deal.

Well, I was thinking Medalist and Feralite ....

Rebates are good I guess, but they always give the idea that the MSRP is too high to begin with. And yeah, I think you have buy both t qualify; but, I bet they sell some of each to folks that misread the offer.

Not to bash at all but I bought two Presidents on sale about 2 years ago and within a few months of use, both broke in exactly the same place ... where the reel seat stem enters the gear case. Hopefully this was just a bad batch. I replaced them with Summit XT models and haven’t had a bit of trouble with them. Again, hope yours run trouble free for years.

Fishing buddy just got one of the new model Presidents from Cabelas, I didn't realize they have come out with a new model recently, anyway I gave it a practice cast and retrieve and I thought it was a very smooth reel, and I mean smooth, surprisingly so.  Lightweight also.  We'll see how it does over time, but next time I need a spinning reel, the President will be a contender.
