J.M. Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 Rods I like best in order G loomis GLX 20 yrs old ST. Croix avid Fenwick Templefork JMHO mixermarkb 1
big c Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 Check out the Denali line. I use the Kovert Lites mostly and love the sensitivity. Royal Blue and Champ188 2
Royal Blue Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 I also like a Lew's TP-1. There's a Ned specific one and then a drop shot/shakey head one I really like both of them. I also have an old Fenwick HMG that's probably 20 years old that I like. Not a fan of the Abu Garcia Veritas one that I have though.
IL Fisherman Posted April 12, 2018 Author Posted April 12, 2018 Thanks for the replies. I do plan on sending them back to St Croix. I do like their rods. This is the first real trouble I have had.
Members sjcorpst Posted April 13, 2018 Members Posted April 13, 2018 Dobyns makes several very nice spinning rods.
edyer Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 I have had good customer service with St. Croix rods as well. Same with G Loomis.
Don Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 Spinning rods-bang for your buck. I just picked up a medium 2-piece 7ft Shakespeare Ugly Stick Elite for bass. Any users/opinions? I am also interested in a Berkley Lightning Rod ultralite for crappie. Any suggestions? Thanks, Don Don May I caught you a delicious bass.
176champion Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 I have a one piece and 2 piece 6'6' medium ugly stick spinning rod and no complaints on my part, bought them at walmart 49.99 a piece. I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything! Bruce Philips
IL Fisherman Posted April 24, 2018 Author Posted April 24, 2018 An update. Sent both rods to St Croix 4/14. Received 2 new rods back today. 10 day turn around and it only cost me $35 (15 there 20 back) for shipping. That’s great customer service. Quillback, snagged in outlet 3, vernon and 2 others 5
mixermarkb Posted April 25, 2018 Posted April 25, 2018 Thanks for taking the time to give us the update. It's great to hear of a company doing things the right way! Champ188 and Terrierman 2
