Used to see them grab dragon flies mid-air in the lilley pad filled lakes of Massachusetts (made for some good popping bug action on a fly rod), but haven't seen it on any of the Ozarkian impoundments.
176champion Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 I haven't even seen a lilly pad here in the Ozarks...lol Use to love dragging a worm across the lilly pads and the bass crash it, really gets the adrenaline flowing. big c 1 I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything! Quillback Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 Yep the Ol' Lilly pad worm drag. One of my favorites was dragging a Johnson silver spoon, tipped with an Uncle Josh pork frog trailer across the pads. You'd see that bulge in the water from 20 feet away from the lure start moving towards it, when it got close, I'd pull that spoon off a pad and let it drop, and sometimes you'd get the big old swirl when Mr. bass grabbed it. big c 1
176champion Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 I guess that's why i suck at fishing here in the Ozarks is there is no lilly pads or grass beds.. I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything! Bruce Philips
