I just checked the historical levels and you have to go back to 2011 to find a May where it hit 656. It has always been 657 to 658 by now.

At least that was 656.8ish (almost 657).

657.4 is the lowest I have ever found Whites running up the creeks (with exception to the Niangua's).  But even on the Niangua's the white bass run isn't near as good as when levels are 658ish.

If they just left it low all the time then erosion would eventually clear a path.  But when the lake is at normal pool throughout the Summer a silt/gravel hump forms across the mouths of all the creeks, and the fish can't make the jump into the creeks during low lake level periods.

Truman is our b#%*h, they will use it as needed for LOZ levels.

Pomme and Stockton are two feet high. The water is there

Actually no.  A few years ago after getting caught by an unexpected flood Ameren decided to release heavy prior to a predicted big rain, which didn't come.  Ameren raised holy heck with the COE to release water to bring it back up and got turned down flat.  Pomme is 0.38 above the target level for this time of year (841.0) Stockton if I remember is 2 or 3 feet high.  But that will be turned into kilowatts befor Truman gets it and turn it into kilowatts before LOZ gets it and turns it into kilowatts.

This is true.   Everyone freaked out over the minor flood and Ameren's stance was "Hey Sorry, but we don't pay attention to weather forecasts".

Then they suddenly started paying attention to weather forecasts, and got burnt right away, so they stopped paying attention to them again.....and we flooded a second time 😅

I love it when it's over 660.5  Lots of cool stuff to fish.

This is the lowest level for May that I have ever seen.   They sucked it down way early too (1st week of October).

Nothing they do makes any sense anymore.   I guess all of the old Ameren UE crew, that knew how to manage the lake levels here, have retired now.   The new generation hasn't figured it out yet.

Do you think Ameren is trying to discourage development finally? What happens when Ameren doesn't want to run the dam anymore? Sell it to the Corps?

Naw they aren't gonna take action to deter further development I don't think.

I always thought their smoothest move would be to drop the lake 12', which would put everyone that was currently lakefront second tier.   Then they could sell all the lakefront property AGAIN.   😃
