Flyfisher for men Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 I happened to spot this in Weaver's fishing report and thought to pass it on. "Please remember, or in case you were not aware of it, zone two had some excavation done to it over the winter. Where you have been used to gradually working your way in to deeper water - there is a drop off. Several anglers have stumbled and fallen into the deep water. So Angler Beware !!" slothman, ness and tho1mas 1 1 1
fishinwrench Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 People really don't look before they step? Maybe they should install hand rails. Or better yet, they should hire life guards. snagged in outlet 3 and tjm 2
NoLuck Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 There was a few people complaining about that drop off on FB Friends of Bennett Springs. If you're dumb enough to blindly wade into the water, even if it's familiar water, you deserve a good dunking. fishinwrench 1
tjm Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 When I was up there years ago, I'm not you could fall over without hitting the guy next to you. It was a line getting in at the head of a hole and getting out at the tail and repeating. Don't recall what zone that was but it was a strange fishing experience. I'd think if the guy in front of you stepped in over his head and popped up 50'-100' feet down stream that the other hundred people in line would use caution. Anyway, thanks for the heads up.

Instead of angling across above the cut, he walks directly on the edge of the cut while talking to someone on the parking side, He would step and the gravel would crumble off and his right side would go from knee to waist deep. That happened almost every step, yet he continued to talk and walk that same line. The current is noticeably stronger now than last year because they narrowed the gap. I was expecting the worse but he made it. I am positive that he wasn't even aware of what could have happened.
