My wife and I caught a variety of fish this morning on both Ned's rig (Green Pumpkin) and Plastic Lizards (Green Pumpkin) fish Texas rigged.  We caught both largemouth and smallmouth on the lizards and had constant action until almost Noon.  Most fish hit the lizards soon after casting into water 3 to 5 foot deep near timber and brush piles.  Areas fished weren't far from point 9.

Nice morning Randy, 3' is quite a bit shallower than I'm currently getting bit.  Son and I had a fantastic day Saturday, but most fish were 10X that deep.  Thanks for the heads up.

Sometimes people don’t catch em shallow because they don’t fish shallow. You only catch them where you put your bait and that needs to be where you have the most confidence.

There are always some fish shallow.  Whether they bite what I'm throwing or not is another story.

Thanks for comments.  We attempted to repeat yesterday's success but found much smaller fish.  Still got a number of bites but nothing keeper size.  My wife broke her line on what we think was a gar - good amount of weight and pressure, but line snapped near the boat.
