Johnsfolly Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 What was this thread about?!?😌 JestersHK and BilletHead 2
Quillback Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Used to eat Columbia river smelt, take the head off, gut them, fry them. Bones would soften after cooking so you could chomp them down. Pretty tasty. You could get them in restaurants in the spring also, local specialty kind of thing. About 20 years ago the population crashed, run dwindled to the point smelt fishing was pretty much shutdown. Johnsfolly 1
BilletHead Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Grunions in California, I did not do this but it was and is still a big deal. To keep this on track Duane paint a grunion jerk bait, BilletHead Quillback 1 "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" JestersHK Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 He's got the formula nailed. And the painting is just stellar. After fishing these it will be hard to ever go back to mass produced... No hype here, they are legit given results yesterday. Repeated over and over and over results! BilletHead, Seth and Quillback 3
Travis Swift Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 So here is going to be my experiment down there next week.. JestersHK, cracklebak, Seth and 1 other 4
duckydoty Posted August 31, 2018 Author Posted August 31, 2018 The size looks good. I too am interested in the swim baits but feel like I’m chewing on enough right now. Did you paint? A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
Travis Swift Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 Found that color on the rack. I thought it looked pretty close and just added some dots with a sharpie. I don't think it looks awful. Gonna throw it with a slow retrieve and also thinking about using it on a drift rig when the water is on. Will be fun to mess around with atleast. I threw some 6 and 7 inch swimbaits and glide baits the last couple trips with no results but I didn't stick with them long enough either though. This smaller size might get some action though.
JestersHK Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 That looks like it will be a good one. Can't wait to see what you catch!
Travis Swift Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 I also have this 5 inch glide bait on the way. I have fished these brand for bass and it works great and has a great gliding motion to it. EDIT: Dear Lord fellas please ignore my wife's "wish list" at the bottom of the picture........ Seth and JestersHK 2
