Fishing a Megaworm.....

I know the megaworm is not for everybody.  But I also know that it catches some big fish each year.  I tied some up in white, cream and pink to try in a couple of weeks.  For those that do fish it, how do you fish it?  Also anyone tried it for anything other than trout?

The Megaworm is a fly pattern made with baby blanket chenille.  But I have some if you wanna try strapping some to a 6/0 worm hook 😂  I mean, ya never know!

here's a picture.....atleast they are my version.  I've never made or fished one but I copied the length and style from a video I saw from Tim's fly shop.  I'm going to try them on taney next week but was hoping for some pointers on how to fish them.  also wanted to try them for bass and crappie and white's etc here in Kansas and wasn't sure if anyone had fished them on warm water fish at all

Are they 10" inches !2" long. I do not have anything shorter than that anywhere

They can be 6 feet long if you want them to.

That ball of white Bernat chenille comes 256 yards long, that should give you about 380 12" worms (when doubled back on itself),  if you don't waste  a lot. ~$9 plus the hooks, eyes and adhesive.

Travis yours are much longer than the one I found  at RR. It is about 1 1/2" over all, back twisted like in wrench's movie. I had no idea what it was when I picked up. I'm still thinking about trying them, so will expect a report on how they work for you.

For trout I tie them SanJuan style (no jig head) and sight fish them in the trout Park.  Basically it's just a gut fly.

They look long to me as well but Tim Homsley has a video on his facebook on how he ties them and in that video he said he makes them about 3 inches long so that's what I was trying to go for.  Hey at the very worst I can snip the end off shorter and singe it and be back to fishing in a minute or two.
