oneshot
Got a Spinning Reel that quit Locking. I figure it should be simple. Any ideas before I tear in to it? oneshot

tjm
I always take things apart inside a clear plastic bag, just in case there is tiny but powerful spring that wants to be free, it's easier than spending hours combing through the floor and furniture. Bushbeater
Usually a gentle cleaning and lube will fix em up. It's probably the IAR Bearing in the top front of the reel. Maybe just needs a drop of oil.
fishinwrench
Well what is it? (Make/model) We have the internet at our fingertips here, we can probably look up a schematic and tell you with 80% certainty why the anti-reverse has failed. Likely a broken spring. If it's a 20.00 reel then scrap it. If it's a 80-120.00+ reel then let's get busy. 😊 Deadstream
Dutch
Knowing what brand of reel you are using would be a great help in giving you repair assistance.
