I fished with a guide on the CO River that dropped 4-5 flies on a rig.  Worked great!

Deliberately fishing a single fly is "fishing".

Throwing out a trot-line of flys to drift through the water column is akin to setting a FISH TRAP.  

I'm a fisherman, not a trapper. I'm in it for the sport.  😊
