Bushbeater Posted September 29, 2018 Posted September 29, 2018 I saw on the news tonight there was a serious accident 15 MM of the Big Niangua Arm. Apparently this was just a few hundred yards from our home and yet we heard nothing. The news said a Bass Boat ran head on into a Jon Boat. Anybody know any details?

laker67 Posted September 29, 2018 Posted September 29, 2018 That must be up on the river above tonka.
Bushbeater Posted September 30, 2018 Author Posted September 30, 2018 From talking with the neighbors it was just down lake of Tonka, at the tight bend along the bluff.
fishinwrench Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 When they use that stupid realtor mile mark designation (14mm of the Niangua arm)🙄 nobody except Century 21 agents know where the hell they are talking about. Mile marks are supposed to be miles from the dam, not miles from the mouth of a tributary arm. Drives me crazy. The less math you have to do in order to navigate the lake, the better. The mouth of the Niangua is the 31mm so let's see....31+14=45 45mm BN is a mile above the 54 bridge (Tonka bend). Good grief! 96 CHAMP and snagged in outlet 3 1 1
MickinMO Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 If both boaters followed proper boating etiquette these collisions wouldn't happen.

MickinMO Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 Hahahaha, precisely. If they both go right like they are supposed then this stuff doesn't happen. Wonder if water patrol can figure out which one it is? When my wife is on the boat with me she is always asking why I am slowing down. Because people are idiots hon. I always assume the other boater either does not see me or does not know what to do liphunter, tho1mas, David Goddard and 1 other 4

jdmidwest Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 I have taken a liking to Mile Marker 10. Calmer part of the lake. MickinMO, fishinwrench and Bushbeater 3 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
