I wasn't aware trout fishing with worms is still politically correct.

95 percent of the fishing I do is with a fly rod. I think anyway one wants to fish is ok. At least they are outdoors :) .  You can use a vintage galvanized minnow bucket, a plastic one or put minnows in your pocket,

Whatever you do, don't catch minnows and transport them somewhere else.  Tisk tisk

Bait for trout when legal is fine by me. I don’t fish bait anymore, but Dad taught me how to. A dead minnow is probably the best bait there is. Rig on a jig. Though the mouth, out the gill, get the jig tight to mouth. Measure, then pop in the side so the jig stays flush with the dead minnows lips. Minnow should be on its side so it’s tail will flap when jigged.

We went to the Jacobs Cave flea market today, saw quite a few there, but everything is priced similar to Ebay. What really surprised me is the old glass jar minnow traps. Most are $75 or better and one new in box from the fifties was $200. We have like 3 of the buckets as BH pictured and 2 Old Pal galvanized worm containers. One of them is the style you clip on your belt for wade fishing. I bet that makes some of the fly guys cringe. We did find a couple of deals on reels, I bought 2 Calcuttas and a Bantam at a very good price.

While antiquing with SWMBO, I ran across one of those glass minnow traps, but this one came with the original box--from Orvis!  That was a surprise...if it hadn't been for the $175 price tag, I might have picked it up.
