Are they in MO?.....one of the worst years ever for me. I think they are plenty here in MO Ron. Just very stale. Been struggling. A bird or two here and there. I think 13 in the last eight days. Two of them yesterday morning. Plenty of Canada geese around but not ready to mess with them. Gavin Posted December 25, 2018 Posted December 25, 2018 No reason for them to fly south this year. Daryk Campbell Sr and snagged in outlet 3 2
jdmidwest Posted December 26, 2018 Posted December 26, 2018 I hope they are just building up numbers for my grand return. The surgery 3 years ago knocked me out of 2015 season. I made a feeble attempt at 2016 for a few trips. Did not buy a stamp for 2017 and 2018, shoulder whacked from second cancer surgery. My hunting buddy has only killed 3 ducks this season as of last weekend. I have noticed only sporatic movement in the migrations while out fishing and deer hunting. Geese were on the move this weekend, an event that usually is done by this time of year any other. Goofy weather. Screws up my fishing too. tho1mas 1 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson

JohnP Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 Been awful down this way, so far in 3 trips I've shot a drake and hen mallard total for the season. Just not seeing any down this way yet to get me too motivated to hunt em.
Members Buck Posted December 28, 2018 Members Posted December 28, 2018 @JohnP Got lucky the other day and killed 5 mallards and 4 geese with a buddy recently in your neck of the woods. That recent weather system did some good. JohnP and Johnsfolly 2

There is more food available to the north with the inception of no till. As long as they have food they can get to and water they won't come to visit us. This year with the prolonged harvest and wet weather they have millions of acres to feed on to the north.

Starting to see a few more ducks around but nothing like we should be seeing this time of year of course its normally 30 to 40 degrees cooler than it has been as well ;).
