Every year or two I end up in a battle with swifts, or Swallows or what the heck ever the fast flying little birds that build with mud.  There is a recessed access into an attic like area right outside my front door.  Them little feathered devils sure don't give up easily.

Those are probably swallows. Cool birds to watch fly and skim bugs off water, but I wouldn't want them building their adobe houses at my place either.

Thanks MoCarp, it is unlike any of the peonies I have seen around here. All the others that I have seen have more oval shaped petals on the flower so therefore I didn't even consider that it could be a peony. The characteristics of the plant are the same as the peonies around here. This plant happens to be a (product of Mexico) it was given to Teresa 10 years ago.

Looking at just the leaves, I don't think it's a peony. Those leaves look serrated and the veins look different. Peony look like this:
